Shoreline’s Accountability & Monitoring Program

Shoreline offers structured monitoring programs that use randomized drug and alcohol testing to support accountability in recovery.

These programs are commonly used for:

  • rebuilding trust within families

  • support after discharge from treatment programs

  • workplace or return-to-duty agreements

  • legal or court-related situations

  • professional monitoring needs

When Monitoring Can Help

The following examples illustrate common situations where monitoring programs may be helpful. These are illustrative scenarios rather than testimonials.

Transitioning from Treatment

Unpacking Moving Boxes

“After finishing sober living, I moved into my own place. My parents were helping with rent and wanted reassurance I was staying on track. An accountability monitoring program gave everyone more confidence during the transition while I continued focusing on my recovery.”

Rebuilding Trust as a Parent

"After treatment, I was working to rebuild my relationship with my kids and trust with their mom. Monitoring gave me a way to demonstrate accountability while I focused on being present as a parent. It helped provide reassurance that I was continuing to follow through on my commitments to them."

Helping Support a Family Member

Adult son moving back home

"When our adult son moved back home, staying substance-free was one of the expectations. Trying to manage testing ourselves quickly created tension. An independent monitoring program helped take that pressure off our relationship and provided a clear, objective system for accountability."

Important Note

Shoreline’s accountability & monitoring program provides structured drug and alcohol testing designed to support accountability and transparency in situations where trust and oversight are important.

Monitoring services are separate from treatment services, although they may be used alongside treatment or recovery support programs. For some individuals, structured monitoring can be a helpful component of a broader recovery plan by providing clear expectations and objective accountability over time.

Drug and alcohol testing has inherent limitations and reflects only the substances detected within the testing window. Monitoring programs are intended to provide structure and objective information within those limitations and should not be interpreted as proof of sobriety or abstinence.
